Some say that as the ancient Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012, the world will end. Others say that if the right person is not elected President in November 2012, the end of the world is assured. If those predictions prove to be true or not, I can tell you two things-one, there'll always be talk of the end of the world, right up to the end of the world; and two, any one of us, or even several of us, might see the end of our lives on this earth sometime during this year.

What if this new year of 2012 is the last year, or at least contains the last months, or last days of my life, how then am I supposed to live? Would you believe there's such a thing as a Manual for How to Live Before Leaving Earth? It's called the Bible! What's more, the Book of Revelation, the last part of that Bible, specifically instructs us on how to live life in the face of death, hard times, threats, and uncertainties of all kinds.

I invite you along on a special journey throughout 2012, or as long as 2012 lasts. We'll explore together the landscape of what most people tell me is a confusing, even a closed book to them-the Revelation of Jesus Christ. I challenge you to make that book your spiritual project this entire year, to study it, to reflect on it, and to pray fiercely about it.

Messages this month: Jan. 8 - Livin' On the Edge (Rev. 1:1-8); Jan. 15 - Cosmic Jesus (1:9-20); Jan. 22 - First Love (2:1-7).

Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. Revelation 1:3, NIV
