Pastor's Corner

I recently came across a cartoon of a church committee meeting around a table. One person says, "I see our church's biggest problems as communication and procrastination." Another person replies, "Let's not talk about it 'til later."

We all must negotiate the twin challenges of communication and procrastination continuously. A church is a family—a family of families, with various classes, ministry groups, and committees—so we must constantly work against inaction and poor communication. Add in the breathtaking pace of change in communication technology. I'm only now getting on board with Facebook; but when Tyler and Blake found out, they said, "Dad, that's sooo 2009!"

To keep pace, we're exploring ways to improve communication as a church. You can help by making sure we have updated email address, phone, or other contact information for the purpose of our annual church directory as well as regular email and other electronic messages we want to implement as soon as possible. Forms are provided in classrooms, or email church Administrative Assistant, Bonnie Kesler. You can also phone her at 851-1928, but that's sooo 20th century!

I appreciate your taking the time to help us with this, and I ask for your patience as we try to be better stewards of information vital to the health of this Body of Christ. . . . so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others (Romans 12:5).
